Digital printing
In digital printing, the printing machine creates an image based on data supplied from a device (computer). Digital printing does not use intermediate media or printing forms. Digital printing is suitable for low-volume jobs.
Cutting
Cutting belongs to the processing of printing. It is nothing more than the cutting of a sheet (or sheets) of paper, cardboard or other materials to the required shape. Cutting is carried out by means of a punching die (cutting form).
Laminating
Lamination is one of the final stages of printing production. It consists in covering the finished packaging or printing product with paper of low basis weight. Usually high basis weight paper, cardboard and paperboard are laminated. Laminating is one of the techniques of refining printing products. Laminated packaging is quite a costly, but very durable and resistant. Additionally they perfectly protect products during transport. Laminating allows to use various types of materials, thanks to that laminated packaging (products) can have very creative, aesthetic and individual finishing. Laminated products are perfect as exclusive packaging, gift boxes, product sample boxes, gift boxes for trade fairs.
Embossing
Selected graphic elements can be highlighted on the packaging or cover. This technique is carried out using embossing dies placed on the embossing board or die.
Calendering
Cardboard sheets can have the effect (texture) of leather or fabric. Calendering is a technique of embossing cardboard sheets with suitable rollers.
Multipoint gluing and folding
Folding and gluing cartons is done by machine. It consists in applying glue in selected places and folding already printed packaging.
Matt / glossy / soft touch foil
A printing sheet may have different finishes and enhancements. One of the most popular and most frequently used is foiling. Foil glued onto sheets may have various finishes: glossy, matt, semi-matt, suede (soft touch). The foils - apart from their decorative function - play a protective role against external factors - UV radiation, moisture, grease, etc.
Hot stamping
It is also one of the techniques that refine printing. For hot stamping a special foil and convex matrices are used. The heated die, after touching the foil, sticks to the surface receiving the shape consistent with the drawing of the die.
Convex varnish (3D)
It is a convex element on the printing surface obtained with the screen printing technique. It consists of placing a large amount of varnish in the indicated places. The varnish is cured with UV radiation. It is a technique that does not require an embossing process.
Hybrid varnish (orange peel, dripp-off)
A print refinement that involves the use of in-line varnish from an offset tower and a flexo tower. These two varnishes are superimposed on each other and as a result of complex chemical reactions we obtain a varnish resembling the shape of an orange peel.
Soft touch lacquer
Refining with a varnish that results in a suede-like finish. In the Stampa Printing House we varnish with a soft touch on absorbent and non-absorbent substrates.
Glossy / matt lacquer
WFinishing with varnish, the effect of which is high gloss or matt. Refinement is carried out using UV technology. It is also possible to apply finishing characterised by a low or semi-matt finish in traditional technology.
Folding
Folding is one or multiple folding of a sheet of paper to obtain a smaller folded format.
